The Program
This page is dedicated to a program offered by CMA: Women's S.M.A.R.T. Self-Defense Program. S.M.A.R.T. standing for Specialized Martial Arts Response Tactics. Much of the curriculum will match the general S.M.A.R.T. system. That can also be viewed on this website by Clicking Here.
This program is not a conventional one. For an average woman to defend herself today against a physical (and emotional) threat, she must do so through unconventional means. Unconventional meaning that the conventional martial/fighting systems: whether they be traditional or sport, are good, but as a stand-alone method for a women to defend herself, there will be deficiencies... Boxing as an example. It's a great sport! Gets you in shape, shows you how strike (with the hands only) and elude counter strikes> BUT its methodology is based in the sport realm. Meaning it is predicated on having rules, time constraints (rounds), and where your opponent will only try to strike you with their hands, and not try to kick you or take you/grapple you to the ground. Do you see the problem? There are no rules, rounds, referee, or anything else pertaining to sports on the street> out there, in the world in which we live! Now, with all that said, sport systems like Boxing, can be modified to work better on the street. But you must first remove its sport identity and methodology.

What is YOUR Personal Safety Worth???
So, in this program, I take my 40 years of martial arts experience, along with my law enforcement experience (11yrs), and I have put together key elements from these experiences, to make a road plan for your personal safety. Offered in the Fall '18 (Sep-Oct-Nov).If there are any cancellations in the Fall session, those classes would be made up in Dec. So that way you are assured of getting the full three month series. Minimum membership required/sign up (Meaning if there is not enough early sign-up, the program will not be a go). Classes will be Saturdays, at Results 360 Fitness & Wellness, 90 Brunswick Street in St George from 10:15am - 11:15am. The cost will be $90, full payment upon your first class. Introduction to fundamental Defensive & Striking techniques.
Introduction to Weapons Defense.
Segment Two- Introduction to Pressure Points and Joint Striking.

Help Yourself!
Like the saying goes, "You cannot help those, that won't help themselves." To do anything, you have to first want to do it. Don't be negative with or doubt yourself.
YOU can do it!
Remember, any martial art or fighting system> including this one, is a perishable skill! You just can't see it & functionally learn this program, and then say, "OK! I'm good now, I'm done." Then never even give it a thought. Your personal safety is ongoing! It is a sword you must never let go dull or rust! Keep it sharp and well maintained. What does that mean? It means you at least practice it (and give it some thought) on a regular basis.
A system to "get you in shape," and a system for combat & personal safety are two very different animals! Meaning, this program is NOT Cardio Kickboxing! The program is information, tactics, & training for YOUR self protection! This program may however, motivate you to start taking better care of yourself. Keeping that machine, your mind & body, ready for any contingency! And as stated earlier: This program could easily turn into a permanent, Women's Only, martial arts class, becoming a derivative of the S.M.A.R.T. System. If there is an interest and student support/participation to do so.
